Hello Bp Nation,

My name is Thomas Weidner and I am from Tyler Tx. Tyler is located about a 2 hr drive southeast from Dallas Tx.  I am married to my beautiful wife and we have 8 children. Yes I did say 8. We are a busy family and enjoy watching ours children's activities such as baseball, track, and band. I have a good job that allows me to be at home 6 months out of the year. So plenty of time to invest in real estate, right.

Currently we have two single family rentals with great tenants. One of which the same tenants has been there for going on four years with never a late payment or problem. The other home is a 3000 sqft custom home that I self contracted. This was a great experience and learned so much from that project.

Our goals for the next year is to sell the custom home to the tenant. Which we will use a good portion of our proceeds to start up our business. My wife is about to begin her process to getting her real estate license. We will invest in fix n flips, vacation rentals, and spec homes. This will lead to me quitting my hourly good job and to become a full time investor. Which then I will have achieved my ultimate goal of being at home every night with my wife and children!

Last but not least is thanking everyone that makes this site what it is! I have been a member for a few months now and have found this site very addicting in a good way. I call this my learning phase and have learned so much from BiggerPockets so far. Now it's time to start the transition from learning to taking action!
