San Francisco | New to BP and Real Estate Investing
What a time to be alive. I'm going to throw everything I got in this post.
My name is Evan Hudson, I'm 24 years young renting in San Francisco, CA. Originally from LA, I moved up here to attend the University of San Francisco and create a life of my own. I graduated a few years back and have been working in commercial and residential lending ever since. After working for base salary and paying rent for 3 years now I want to jump in and be an investor myself. If you live in San Francisco then you understand the soul crushing pain of renting here. I've also been very fortunate to have such an inspiring, loving, and knowledgeable father figure who has been doing real estate since he started in San Francisco years ago when he was my age, but I want to make my own connections, learn everything I can, and take what he's given me and make something of it.
I've listened to a few episodes of the bigger pockets podcast, but nothing to hang my hat on, currently listening to Partnerships, Landlording, and Getting Started in Real Estate. I just finished Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and it has re-inspired me to find a property to be my first investment, and join a community of real estate professionals that I could grow with. I was searching the internet (look at me) for tips, tools, instructions, how to's, beginner guides, whatever I could find, and stumbled upon one of the forum posts from this website. I was reading through the comments, scrolling around on the site, and noticed that there are a ton of smart people here that I need to learn from and get involved with.
My goals are simple. I want to get out of the rat race doing what I love. I want to meet fellow real estate investors/professionals, a mentor or two, other newbies that I can bounce ideas off of, buy a multi family property this year and rent it out, and continue to add to my portfolio. I'm about to jump into the course a beginners guide to real estate investing, and possibly attend the SF Happy hour on the 19th. I'm really excited to soak up everything I can and be part of this community.
