New Investor (again) in South Florida

I started my journey Years ago, getting in to Mortgages in 2006. As you can imagine, was not long lived.

I joined bigger pockets a couple of years ago and I decided to put everything on hold as the new job, wife, and home was all going on at once. And the kids, if you count 2 hyper active beagles.

Now that I am steady and comfortable, as well as a few Bigger Pockets Podcasts in, I decided it was time to go into this full force.

There is a lot to research and look into, and I am trying my best not to get analysis paralysis. For me however, I think I need a more one on one guide. I am looking into the mentor-ship program at my local REIA. What I have found is great reviews, a good community, and many successes in the group. This works best for me as I still am planning to work full time in a very time demanding field. The guide and sense of accountability I will get from "reporting" to a mentor that wants to see me succeed is comforting to me. IF only they want my success so they can get their cut of profits is enough for me. Money is a nice motivator.

Not sure how many of you decided to go this route, but if all goes well I will post about my experiences. Perhaps it will work for others.

Welcome @Joseph Perez! I think it's great that you are at least going to the REIAs - making friends in the industry is very helpful, especially when you're starting out. There's a bunch of meetings down here and I try to attend as many as I can, but the two meetings I never miss are Dade REIA (www.dreia.org) and Broward REIA (www.breia.com). Hope to run into you at one of these real soon! If you see me, say hello!
