Hello everyone!

My name is Andrew, I'm 28 and from the Pittsburgh, PA area. I'm new to the world of real estate investing, and just recently became intrigued after starting to listen to the BiggerPockets podcast. I've since spent as much of my free time as possible listening to episodes and browsing the forums/blogs. Additionally, I just finished reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and have now moved on the Book On Rental Property Investing by Brandon from BP.

My background/experience in real estate is still quite limited, as my only experience has been my wife and I purchasing our primary residence a few years ago.

Of course, I realize that my first step must be to put together a true business plan and list of goals. However, as I continue to read and learn more, I am anxious to begin putting what feels like 'theory' into action and start developing a long-term portfolio of rental properties. My (very long term) end goal is to build a large amount of passive income to serve as a means to retirement.

Looking forward to joining in the discussions across the BP community!

- Andrew

Hi @Andrew F. and welcome.

I am closing on a JV in Pittsburgh this week with 2 other Canadian investors. As foreigners, it's helpful to have trustworthy 'boots on the ground' locally who can vouch for a certain area, potentially take video walk-throughs of houses, etc. and make some money doing so.

Thinking out loud here, but that's an easy way for you to quickly add value. Best of luck!

Cameron
