Hello to everyone from the Bigger Pockets community! My name is Jordan Crist and I'm from Charleston, WV. I am brand new at real estate investing, but in only a couple months time I've learned a million times more than what I knew when I began this journey. Go figure. I started my career after college as a full-time supervisor at UPS, but quickly learned that working long hours to make some guy above me look good in hopes to climb up the corporate ladder was not for me. A good friend of mine from high school came to me with aspirations to get into real estate investing. After thinking on it for a couple months and being completely irritated at my managers at UPS, I decided that I could do better for myself. I quit my cozy salaried job of 3 years and we started our real estate company, Building Appalachia. In two short months we've got 2 houses under contract. One of them is a month into rehab and we will be closing on the second one in a week. My biggest obstacle thus far is finding money. My first deal was funded through a family friend. I have the option to fund my second deal through a hard money lender, but to me the price of entry is very expensive. I'm looking for advice on finding cheaper money and building relationships with lenders. Thank you in advance for any tips. I'm really looking forward to being an active member of this community and contributing in any way I can!
