Hi everyone! I'm a newbie investor from Calgary AB. Currently exploring real estate as an investment option through reading and podcasting. Really enjoy and appreciate the great education BP team provides with the podcasts.

I'm most interested in buy and hold rental property investing rather than flipping or wholesaling. From reading some prior posts by fellow Canadians, it sounds like Calgary is not a great place to invest due to high purchasing cost and low rent. It seems to be the case from looking at the market right now that 500k single family house would rent out for about $2000/month (even that may be difficult to get as there aren't a lot of people renting). Would be interested in hearing from local investors on the current market as to whether it is wise to invest now.
