My name is Nick Ciarniello and I grew up and love 20 minutes outside of Youngstown, Ohio. I am currently a 9-5 accountant looking to escape. My parents are no longer together and yet both invest in real estate. So I guess it was always there for me. My dad is the safe one that only rents to family and is happy to get 1%. My mom is just happy to have long term renters even if she is charging below market. When I was younger my mom used to flip houses as well and put me to work at each one. A year and a half ago I purchase my first piece of real estate and I thought my mom was going to strangle me. It was the fraternity house Youngstown State that I had lived in when I had gone. I swear everything break on this stupid house but I learn a ton and never come out behind so I have no complaints. A few months ago my mom found a nice little house that we partnered up on and have rented right now. This will probably be sold in 4-5 years as we want to get the above market rent we are currently getting as a result of doing a full remodel on the interior of the house and new roof.
