Newbie from Las Vegas
Hi BP Gals and Guys!
So glad I found BP and resources it offers—truly amazing! I am ready to learn as much as possible about real estate investing in Las Vegas, Henderson.
My wife and I moved to Las Vegas from So Cal 20 years ago. We both have full time career and currently own 2 properties (we live in and other one is rental). We just listed one of the properties (we live in) and looking in to renting once the property is sold, and also get serious in real estate investing. We always talked about real estate investing—and I think the reason why we haven't made any stride is because we always "talked"about it, we both know that it takes action to get going and that's why I joined BP, to learn more about networking, connecting with the right investors and use the resources that are available to us.
Thanks, BP!

Hello and welcome to BP! I am from and currently live in DallasCounty Texas but I heard a few things in Las Vegas and have been there a few times. I am 60 years old and very opinionated about certain things and trying to make a living in Las Vegas is kind of trendy. It has it's good times and bad times. My father went their for about 10 years ago in the past to make a living and came back to the Dallas area a wealthy man that allowed him to pay cash for his home on a golf course. Right after he left Las Vegas in about 2005 the builder he sold 40 acres to went broke because of a bad economy but my father had gotten enough money to last him about 12 years.
What the excuse for brining this up? Between what he has said and the other stories I have heard leads me to believe that Las Vegas is trendy and because of its population makes it seem kind of out front with its economy. What am I saying? I am saying to get in and out early and to stay focused on its economy news. I think there is a bunch of money to make there but you have to stop investing at the right time to avoid getting caught up in that.
Pay attention to the news and get in and out at the right times to avoid the down turns of the economy. Do not get caught up in what is going on but look at the future and what is likely to take place. Pay attention to all of those things that tell you about the future. Stay in touch with the people that know the most about the future. Try to always invest in a growth area. Keep your ears working for you. Listen to those that tend to know what is going on. Watch those that have been in business a long time. Go with those that seem to know what is going on. Especially those that always seem to know what is going on. Follow those people.
Good luck to both of you!
