Who I am, where I'm from, and where should I start?

Hi, My name is Ernesto. I'm from Hartford, CT, but I live in New Britain, CT. I personally haven't made my first deal in real estate investing, but I do have knowledge of investing. I'm an entrepreneur. I work in sales, marketing, recruiting, d2d, and b2b for companies like DirecTV, and Frontier Communications. I have many years of experience in working with clients directly, or at home shows and in canvassing.

My goal, honestly, is to become the best investor I can be, and also I currently don't own a home. So I think that would be the best start for me. I mean if I can find a mdu where I can live in, and then rent out the other spaces. I think that would be a great step for me. Not only for the positive cash flow, but just for the whole experience. I'm 35 and I'm pretty much behind a lot folks on BP. So that's motivation for me to go out and get my own place. One of the problems that I'm running into is which loan should I go with as a first time home buyer? Plus, I'm really not to familiar with the whole process of buying a home. Which scares me because I don't want to make no mistakes. Since I don't have a lot of money on deck. My first thought was to do a few wholesale deals, but I don't have that mentor-ship support. I think I need to do it right. I was also thinking of just going with 203k for my first home. If I could get some advice. It would be greatly appreciated. I do read a lot of the posts and they are very informative. Plus it would be cool to link up with someone from around my way that is like minded. I do work hard, and I'm a team player. Thanks to those who took the time out to read this, and I look forward to your feedback.
