Action-Oriented New Investor in Central Wisconsin

I'm currently an SVP in mortgage servicing for one of the big banks and have been in the mortgage industry for 15 years.  I got my MBA in finance over 10 years ago.  After reading "Cash Flow Quadrant" last October, a light bulb went on for me: I was using my skills and experience to benefit my employer, but not to truly benefit my family and me (beyond my regular paycheck and savings).  I quickly shifted from an employee-mindset to a business-owner mindset.  I just closed on my first deal (duplex) and am actively seeking to expand my rental property portfolio while continuing to work full time for a great company in a job I'm good at.  My long-term goal is financial freedom and I'm excited about now taking more aggressive action toward the income side of that equation.  I'm particularly interested in meeting other Wisconsin and/or small-town, rural area investors.

Hi @Melanie Carter congrats on getting started on your REI journey. As you know, especially after reading CFQ, earned income is the worst but a necessary evil. I wish you much success in your transition from earned income to passive income. Always remember to persist and you will WIN!!!
