Denver / Aurora Newbie - House Hacking Advice

Hi All - 

My name is Jamie and my boyfriend and I are going to be new to the Denver area come June. We are looking to start our journey to "financial freedom" and an attractive first step for us is the idea of house hacking.

Are there any recommendations out there? What is the best way to get pre-approved for a loan? Any tips/advice/words of wisdom are appreciated.

If there is a forum already dedicated to pre-approval or for the Denver area, please, someone lead us in the right direction!! :) :)
