How new to Real Estate can you get? This new!

Hello landlords, investors, buyers, sellers, and all those in between!

My name is Guy Dunn and I'm really new to this whole Real Estate business. I'm talking like newborn babe who doesn't even have a name new. I'm talking just starting to get the hang of ARVs and MAOs new. Twenty five years old with a crap job, next to no savings, but lights in his eyes about the possibilities of real estate new.

Now if there is one thing that I've learned in the last few months that I've been peeping at this site is that real estate is rewarding but really difficult.  Completely at odds with the message that was fed to me by a guru in during a weekend seminar. You know the sort: "...AND if you buy our Supreme Infinity Pro Gold Program...". And though I know a shill when I see one, the heart of what I saw was real. And that was: as difficult as it is, real estate has a very real possibility of changing my life for the better if I arm myself with the right knowledge, people, and (eventually) resources to make it happen.

So my dear landlords, investors, buyers, sellers and all those in between, my question to you is this: I've got my feet on the ground, so where do I go? I've got people who I'm referencing who are in the business and who I hope will mentor me, but what else do I need? What resources should I devote my energy toward obtaining to make the dream of financial independence work?

I don't know who you are, where you are from, or what specifically in real estate you do, but I do know for a fact that you know more than I do when it comes to real estate. And I appreciate any advice or feedback you can provide!

Warmly,

Guy T. Dunn Jr

P.S. I know this edges into the "Starting Out" section of the forums. Please excuse the breach in etiquette, I'm just an illiterate savage.
