Getting back into investing since being out since the mid 2000s; I got out in order to pursue a medical degree, and, now that I'm finished with medical school and residency, I'm looking to get back in in a big way. I was first exposed to real estate investing in the late 1990s and early 2000s by my father who was one of the REI trainers/mentors for Russ Whitney's company. Sadly, he passed away in 2004, 6 weeks after being diagnosed with stomach cancer--which is what spurred my interest in medicine.

I came across boxes of my dad's training materials and wonder how much of it is still reliable today. I've also been reading other, newer books at a rate of about 2 per week. I'm presently looking to start back a little slower over the next couple years, with a goal of paying off my student loans in 5 years--a very reasons able goal with my income as a physician. I'm also heavily invested in mutual funds. After a couple years of getting settled back in the real estate game, I plan to go full-court press, with a goal to get out of medicine by the time I'm 45 and only working when I want and doing medical missions (I'm 33 now).
