Hello, BP'ers!  I am a DFW native who lives southwest of Fort Worth but works full-time in Irving (yes, I drive a lot!).  I am finally coming to the conclusion that the stock market will not get me to (early?) retirement, so I went on a search for a better way...and found real estate investing is the way to go.  I am a newbie as far as real estate investing goes, but I have purchased 2 primary residences and also built two other new primary residences for myself over the years.  My goal is growth, but ultimately I am looking for passive income for retirement.

I am a fast learner and drinking from a fire hose right now via books, blogs, and podcasts, but I also realize that networking is a must. If anyone can recommend a great REI meetup in the DFW area, I would appreciate it. I love learning from others while giving back as much as I can in the process.
