investors and initial flipping advice

My son and I have been researching house flipping (thanks, BP ...you are a wealth of information!).  He recently received his real estate license, and we are in search of  investors in the Asheville, North Carolina area (we are actually about twenty minutes south of Asheville, in Hendersonville). 

He is considering  taking out a first time home buyers' mortgage for the initial flip....hoping to get some feedback as far as if this would be a good way to begin??
