Feeling overwhelmed about real estate

Hello all, How do you even get started? I think I want to flip to build income then eventually get into rental properties. The information seems overwhelming and the risk factor is super intimidating. We purchased our first home 2 years ago. The stress of it all was off the charts! A beautiful home with lots of cover ups of major problems. I felt duped by everyone involved in the deal. This definitely adds to my fears of getting out here in the real estate world. Where does one begin?
