Bank examiner and new(ish) investor in metro Detroit

Been lurking for a few years and learned a ton. I have one rental in St Clair Shores and on the lookout for more. I'm interested in the east side of Metro Detroit due to the lower entry cost and I have family in that area so I'm familiar with it. The goal is to build a portfolio of buy and hold SFR's for wealth and cash flow later in life.

My background is in examining financial institutions – I've worked for FDIC and NCUA so I'm familiar with community banks and credit unions. I've looked at countless commercial loans and an ungodly amount of 1-4 family real estate loans so I'm well versed in cash flow and financing. I've seen some crazy things in this line of work…

I travel quite a bit for work so attending REIA meetings is very difficult, so I've finally joined and hoping to network on here.
