Hey everyone!

My name is Tom and I'm looking to get started in RE investing. I've been lurking on the site for a few weeks and decided to finally introduce myself. I currently live in NYC (FiDi) but am looking for investments in lower Westchester (Croton On The Hudson in the north down though Yonkers) since that is where I was born and grew up.

My RE goals are two fold. Short-term (<12 mo), looking learn as much as possible and finally invest in a 2-3 family unit with my wife and I occupying 1 unit (house hack if you will). Want to start building a bit equity and stop bleeding (so much) money in rent; rather pay a mortgage than rent. Longer-term (>18 mo), looking to start investing in pure invent properties to incorporate a new source of cash flow. Ideally within 5 - 7 years, have enough cash flow that my wife can quit her job and focus on becoming a teacher (which is really what she wants to do).

Looking forward to being a part of the community!
