Howdy, Denizens of BP
noun * formal * humorous
an inhabitant or occupant of a particular place.
"denizens of field and forest"
synonyms: inhabitant, resident, townsman, townswoman, native, local;
(see above for official definition of the word denizens, which I think is a pretty cool word)
My name is Dallas, I'm a resident of Dallas, Texas. My background is in internet marketing - I've always been good with computers. Actually, I'm very familiar with forums, because my first professional job was actually as the Super Moderator (one step below Administrator) of a forum dedicated to writing programs (gray area in their Terms of Service but shhh) to automate making virtual money on Neopets.com when I was 12 years old. I'm 24 years old, now, but I've always been interested in better ways at making money with less cost of my time.
I haven't been on a forum like this since high school, but my history since then is in marketing. Last year I had a client who was a startup in Home Automation space, which set my spider-senses tingling into the Real Estate industry, which set a course where now I'm running the marketing department for a high-end real estate firm here in the DFW area.
I'm here because I love to learn as much as I can in order to become excellent in my space. I am on episode 20 of the BP podcast so I feel like I know enough to not ask the completely stupid questions. Long-term goals are to eventually contribute value to newbies like me, as someone who has a bigger stake in the market than just marketing, but as for now I just want to learn as much as I can.
I can contribute value in any general marketing questions (I have 5 years+ in public relations as head of Internet Marketing for a large firm here) but for the most part I'm here to lurk and ask questions as they come. I want to learn as much as I can and humbly accept I'm just getting started even 20+ hours into the podcast. I appreciate the incredible value I've already been given already and look forward to getting to a place where I can hopefully give back!
Best,
Dallas
