Hey all.  Newly registered here, thinking about trying my hand at real estate investing.

Background - Age 41, Engineering Manager by trade, have my degree, professional license, etc.  I currently head up a large design team that does large water/wastewater projects.  Also divorced, have a 12 year old son, 50/50 custody.

Basically - the divorce and subsequent custody fights in court with an ex-wife who keeps trying to take away my 50/50 time have taken their toll financially.  I'm looking for something I can potentially start on the side to generate a new income stream to rebuild savings, etc.  Even have as a backup if I find myself out of work for any reason.  Real estate investing seemed like it might be a good one for me to try.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to participating here.  Looks like a good website!
