Newbie from Cincinnati, Ohio!

My name is Natalie, and I just purchased my first fixer upper that I plan to hold onto and rent. I am interested in buying and holding, house hacking, rental properties, and flipping. I hope to buy smart and slowly (over 3-5 years) to create a portfolio of single-family homes and smaller (1-8 units) multi-family properties. I currently work as a business management consultant and would like to do that work overseas in developing countries. I hope that real estate can provide additional income while I am living overseas.

I have been keeping an eye on the real estate market for about 8 months now and learning as much as I can from bigger pockets (my brother got me hooked!) and other online resources. I would like to know more about evaluating a deal, building partnerships with contractors, and seller financing and other forms of “alternative” financing. (Full disclosure: I’m interested in everything related to this new adventure, and I’m driven to learn anything I can!)

Any tips are welcome, and if you are in the Cincinnati area I’d love to meet up with you and soak up any wisdom that I can!
