Hello BiggerPockets Community!!!

I have joined in the hopes of guidance from the knowledge and experiences you all have had in the area of house hacking.  A little background on myself: I am 26 years old, single and still living in my parents house.  I am located in Bergen County NJ which is expensive but prime NYC commuter location.  I am currently struggling with 6 figures of student loan debt and my lack of total independence and privacy from my parents.  My older brother, who is currently flipping his first home in Philadelphia, enlightened me on the possibility of real estate as not only a supplemental income but more so a way out of my house via house hacking.  I am extremely interested in this venture.  I am not looking to get rich quick I am seeking the smartest way to exercise my freedom (moving out) at the lowest cost to me.  It is to my understanding this could be possible with house hacking.  I have come here on his suggestion to find the best advice and success/failures to guide me into this new adventure.  My goal for myself is to study, discuss and learn as much as possible while saving in the hopes of making my move this fall.  Please be brutally honest with me, growing up here in Jersey I am not intimidated by the truth, I appreciate it.  Thank you for having me here, I look forward to interacting/learning with you all and eventually spreading my real estate wings!  -Ana
