My husband and I own an insurance agency in Columbus, OH. We're experiencing and influx of inquiries for vacant property/hazard insurance. A lot of these homes are located in less than desirable neighborhoods and priced at $3K-$6K. We've discovered that some are being purchased through the Columbus Land Bank. These home would require major renovations that are spelled out in the contract.  We've always tossed around the idea of real estate investment, but these calls have motivated us even more. We're finally wrapping our arms and our minds around the idea.

Still firmly planted in the research phase.

Any advice is welcome.

We are also attending Meetups in our city to get an idea of what's going on in Columbus.
