General contractor new to BP

I took the advice from a friend and finally came to BP. I am located south of Pittsburgh, Mon valley area.  I own a General Contracting/ Remodeling business and am interested in learning more about real estate, particularly interested rentals. 

I am moving closer to making my first investment and I'm just trying to make some educated decisions and learn what I can from people with experience. Any advice on getting started is welcomed and appreciated.

I know an investor who has properties in Pittsburgh who has shared invaluable info with me about the areas and markets there.  PM me and I will share some info with you that he has shared with me.  He has been around a long time and would be a great guy to connect with.  (He is actually getting ready to retire).
