New To Real Estate from Shreveport La area

Hi! My name is Lashayla Johnson from Shreveport, La. I'm a new member on here and I'm also new to the real estate world. Im currently a nurse but I've always been interested in real estate but have had a "fear" of getting started. I've currently just finished a real estate agent class and am waiting to sit for my state exam to be licensed. I'm interested in wholesaling and rehabbing and learning anything else that I come across that may be interesting.

Hey LaShayla, welcome to BP and real estate investing. There are actually a couple of local real estate investor meet-ups that get together once a month. The first group is SBREIA (Shreveport Bossier Real Estate Investor's Association). It is an educational group that has a different speaker come in and talk on a specific topic. It's a great way to learn different aspects of investing and real estate in general. We will be getting together tomorrow at 6:00pm at Piccadilly's in St. Vincent Mall. The second group is RE360, a social networking group that gets together and talks shop. We will be meeting this Thursday at 6:00pm at Zocolo's in Shreveport. We'd love it if you can make it to one or both meet-ups. It's a fantastic way to meet like-minded individuals and dive right into this real estate game!
