Newbie From Covington Louisiana

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. This is my very first posting. My name is Ed Becnel. I am new to real estate investing (a "newbie"). I live in Covington, Louisiana. I am 56 years old and am a senior advisor software engineer (computer programmer). I recently attended a weekend seminar entitled "Success in Real Estate". The information presented by the "guru" seemed too good to be true. I suspected that this was a trap to get people to pay an extremely large tuition fee for advanced education. After researching this online, my gut feeling was right, so luckily, I avoided this trap and a spending a bundle of money. So, I am here now to learn the right way and to network with others. I am looking forward to interacting with you, growing in knowledge, and sharing with you. Right now, I want to learn the fundamentals of real estate investing. I have already downloaded and begun reading the free beginners guide to real estate book. Thank you for taking time to read my introduction!
