 Hello everyone,

My name is Luis Martinez, a 27 year old Information assurance officer for the DOD. I have, like many invested in education (bachelors/master) looking for my piece of the American dream. I have tried many business ventures with little success. I had a friend refer me to Biggerpockets, He was like "Lu you make really good money out in the Middle East, its about that time you let that money work for you." take a look into real estate and gave me this site. I’m 27; make 6 figures (most tax free, since I’m out of the states for now), no kids, no wife, All of this and still don’t feel like my net worth is where it should. The fear of being in debt has kept me from even buying a home.

I joined the forum a few months ago and been reading every day none stop about the topic. Understating how people buy and hold, or flip has me thinking I could too join the field. I have much to learn and many questions to ask, but as I sit here typing this post, I have decided I will become successful in real estate! I’m truly surprise this site is free to join, the information on here is far too great to capture it all in a few visits ha-ha..

My first question to the experience realtors is; if you could start over with 80k to spend and good credit, what would you focus your investments in? Buy and hold, or look for flip opportunities and why?

Also if there’s any topic I should take a look please don’t hesitate to direct me to it.

Thanks again
