Tampa Real Estate Market Outlook

Any thoughts would be very beneficial and thanks in advance.

I have had a long standing desire to enter the real estate field. I do have experience in finance, sales and marketing. For some time I possessed my Kentucky real estate license but never pursued a career. I have lived in the Tampa area for several years and now want to pursue a career in real estate. My initial thought would be to obtain my real estate associate license. At this time I am not in a position to financially flip property or go six months without a pay check but realize it takes time and a little luck to be successful. Good idea or not due to market conditions for someone with no book of business to try and get started?

Would it be realistic or practical to try and gain employment at a rental agency while the market is down right now?

If I am hoping to be involved in real estate in some way right now is this the worst time a rookie could be starting?

Any thoughts on utilizing a real estate license for positions other than being just an agent while I build up a referral base?

My idea situation due to previous experience I have would be to work with an investor and learn hands on the ends and outs of flipping and owning rental property. I know these types of questions are probably posted frequently. However, I don't have unrealistic expectations and know hard work would be required. I hope to rely on my existing skills to prosper in this industry

-thanks
