Hey all,
I am an aspiring investor in Turlock, California. My general plan at this point is to utilize the BRRR strategy to invest in multifamily units in the Central Valley of California and generate cash flow, then move into larger apartment complexes.
I bought my first home with the VA Loan a few years ago. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I had to move out and turn the home over to a property management company to rent out for 2 years. This inadvertently gave me the experience of my first investment rental property. After making plenty of mistakes and wondering how the hell people actually made money doing this, I found BP and have been studying as much as possible to make smart deals moving forward.
My first goal is to purchase my first 2-4 unit complex (BRRR) by March 2017 in the California Central Valley.

@Jason Moran Ripon is beautiful and that was my second location to consider! I'm going to send you a private message
@Kenneth Reimer Thank you for your support and your wisdom. I do think we are approaching a downturn soonish. With that in mind, I am driven to find investments that make sense from Day 1 and won't be drastically affected by a down turn. I believe if I can successfully keep a cool head in analyzing deals in the current booming market, that means FAR more bargains to be had in a down turn.
@Mark Nolan thank you for reminding me of that section... I have to get digging!
@Wes Blackwell Thank you, and great analysis and write up on that trend. Being a Bay Area native millennial who wanted more a more affordable life, I think you're on to something :-P
