New Member - Multi Unit Interests
Hi All - I recently joined the site! I learned about it from the Michael Blank course I took. I have single renter properties in NC and MD. Really interested in doing multi-unit now. So looking for as much information as possible related to multi-unit acquisitions. I'm teaming with a few family members and friends but with the exception of one, we're all pretty new to it. That said I'd benefit from linking up with some experienced multi-unit investors.
My first couple of questions relates to contacts. 1) I live in Frederick, MD but work in Rockville so looking for meetups in Montgomery County or Frederick. I saw that Frederick had a couple of meetings late last year but it didn't appear that any upcoming dates have been scheduled. I did find a group in Gaithersburg. But likewise I didnt

The Gaithersburg and Frederick meetup happen every month. Two of the better meetup/reias in the metro area. The Gaithersburg one is larger and more consistent while the Frederick one really varies in size from month to month. Feel free to shoot me a PM for the info on both. I'm on my cell phone so it's hard to look up the info from here.
As far as multifamily stuff in the metro area. 2 to 4 unit properties exist in only the tiniest numbers throughout the metro area. Our metro area developed at a different time in history than when the majority of 2 tor 4 units in the northeast were being developed.
Small commercial properties are fairly rare in the area as well, but do pop up. Larger commercial is more prevalent, but for larger ones you are talking about needing a million or two in capital to get into the sector.
