New Member Living in Union, New Jersey

Hello All,

I'm Danny Rollins and I currently live in Union, NJ. I'm highly interested in establishing and building my own real estate investing company. 

I'm currently an Business Analyst for an IT consultancy but just like most others here working 40 hours a week to simply earn a salary over the next 25 years doesn't coincide with my yearning for freedom. I'm not saying a hate my profession, I just know that it can't solely support my goals of financial freedom and leaving a legacy for my family.

Over the holiday break I attended Brandon's webinar "How a Newbie Can Start Building Wealth Through Real Estate" and I must say I was impressed and motivated into taking action to improving my life. So much so that I became a PRO member that night.

I immediately started to read the Bigger Pockets books and blog posts, and listen to the podcasts. There's so much information here but at times all this knowledge seems like information overload!

Anyway, my goal is to create my own real estate business within New Jersey's Passaic, Essex and Union counties (I've yet to select a primary county), with a focus first in wholesaling and then moving to buying & holding small multifamily properties to start.

Being this is such a huge new endeavor for me there are some doubts. For me it's doing something wrong and it costing me a lot. What were your initial fears and how did you deal with them?
