Hello, BP members. My name is Matt and I am from Boston, MA. I am 20 years old and I am really motivated to start in real estate. I currently work in the IT industry and want to start investing my money, eventually, retiring very early on. (yes, i'm 20 and already thinking about retirement)

I am an extremely motivated kid at such a young age. A lot of family members of mine are in REI, i've always wanted to do it and finally doing my studying.

My goal currently is rental properties, and to have my first deal within 8 months, and own 3-4 total by the end of 2018. I am saving religiously

I look forward to learning as much as I can.

@Matthew Gangi

Welcome to bigger pockets. That's a good mindset and list of goals.

Has a really helpful book called the Beginners Guide to Real Estate Investing. This can help you decide which avenue of real estate investing you may want to go down; flipping, buy and hold, etc.

Search and browse the community, education, marketplace and tools bars on top of the site to see what information is available.

Setting up keyword alerts will help let you know if someone is talking about a particular topic in a forum.

I only know if people are responding to to my posts or replies if they are using the "@" feature as that is how I have my alerts set up. You insert @ and start typing the persons name.

Don't be discouraged, the Boston real estate market has a lot of competition right now and in my opinion is in a sellers market so there is little supply and prices are high.

The combination of using this site, connecting with others and using the internet as a whole will help you with your real estate investment aspirations.

Feel free to reach out and connect. I welcome talking and meeting with others to share information and learn new things, one can never stop learning.

The event @Mike Hurney is referring to can be found at https://massrealestate.net/
