Hey all,
My name is Aaron Gonzalez and I'm from Laguna Niguel CA. Ive been in the real estate biz for about 7 years now, doing everything from construction for flips and rentals, property management, wholesaling, lots of fix and flips, and new development.
Quick about me (skip it if you want I don't care):
My start in Real estate came from my dad, he started flipping homes in 1989. Just 4-5 the first year, bought at auction, slapped some lipstick on the pig and put it on the market. The golden age of Investing. He has been flipping homes full time since 1990 and I have grown up watching him and waiting for my chance. When I graduated from high school, I stuck the middle finger up at college and started working with my dad. 7 years later I cant describe how thankful I am to have made that decision, and the support system that I had that many young investors don't get from their families.
I was sent to Las Vegas in 2012 to manage rentals and construction of the 100+ units that we bought in 2012. Realizing I could do a better job at construction than the people we hired, I started my own company renovating for our rentals and 50+ flips over 3 years, as well as flips for other investors in the area. After 3 years of construction work, I had an epiphany that I would never get rich at construction, and I was tired of living in the desert. Sold my company and moved back to the beach!
Currently I'm working in the acquisitions side of our business, I find the deals for our fix and flips as well as our new construction. Anything that doesn't fit our model is then wholesaled out to other investors, lots of people talk down on wholesaling, my belief is that they just couldn't hack it. Challenging, fun, at times frustrating as hell, but always worth it.
Anyway, Ive been meaning to join up here at Bigger Pockets for a while but Im just getting around to it now. I'm looking forward to meeting lots of you, making solid connections in our field, and learning a whole lot from everyone here.
Thanks,
Aaron
