Hi all, 

Newbie REI from Louisville, KY here. Just moved back to Louisville from Shelbyville, KY in August and decided to rent out my home of 8 years rather than sell it. I still need to run the numbers to see if that was wise or not but it's cash flowing ok for now so I'll probably re-evaluate once the current tenants move out. I work as a Database programmer/Business Intelligence guy for a day job, but I am hoping to make the move to full time REI over time.

I am hoping to have my next property in 2017 and still need to do more research on whether I want to go multifamily or commercial storage. Currently I am looking for a good real estate focussed financial advisor to get started with.

When I am not working I am usually cycling or other exercise, enjoying home theater, spending time with my girl.  I listen to lots of audiobooks/podcasts in the car and thats how I found this awesome community! (I've been lurking a little while) I've probably listened to 20 or more BiggerPockets podcasts by now so I know there is a lot I need to learn but I'm looking forward to it.

Brett Kennedy is the closest thing to a BP meeting. Adam has one in Jeffersonville Indiana right across bridge.

Erik Hitzlberger has one in the east end.

KREIA has one, and there is an Indiana subgroup of KREIA that meats in New Albany.

Reve group has one for large commercial downtown.
