Newbie from Virginia Beach

Hello BP folks!

Born in Norfolk, VA, but left the area and lived the childhood of a Navy brat. I've since returned to the area as an active duty Naval officer. I work in the IT field, something I just assumed I'd always do to support myself (civilian or otherwise). I recently finished a financial advice book and decided it was time I started being a bit more proactive with my money before I let time get the best of me!

     I'm currently trying to absorb as much information as I can before I get my feet wet with investing. This site looks to be quite promising! I'm looking forward to meeting other investors and professionals and learning some new skills.

Welcome to BP & the real estate investing world! You have a huge advantage over us civilians with your ability to use your VA eligibility to purchase a 4 plex with no money down. You have to live in one of the units, so it won't work for everyone. It's an amazing benefit if you can make it work though. I ditto the above suggestion to join TRIG (Tidewater Real Estate Investors Group) and PREIA (Peninsula Real. Estate Investors Group).
