Hi Everyone! After lurking around the site and forums for over a month now, I decided it was time to introduce myself. I've caught the REI bug and have been obsessively reading everything I can on the topic and have listened to so many podcasts that each time I read something written by @Joshua Dorkin or @Brandon Turner I actually hear their voice reading it to me.

I work full time but as my first foray into investing, I plan to lease out my home (desirable area that should cash flow based on lease comps) in the Spring and looking for my first deal (ideally a duplex or SFH) to rehab and move into. If anyone is familiar with the Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts area and has ideas on creative ways to find something, let me know! From there, continuing on with acquiring SF or Multi-Family to hold and lease is the plan.

I will be attending my first REI meetup tonight and look forward to meeting some local investors. Any locals have a favorite meetup or REI group in the Dallas area? Several come up when I search but would love to hear if anyone favors one over the other.
