Updated about 8 years ago,
New Sarasota investor
Hi All,
I just thought I would introduce myself. Having recently become unemployed I decided to get into house flipping full time. I currently own 3 properties. The 1st in England (In my home town) which I have owned and rented out since 2003. The 2nd in Tampa which we purchased in 2009 and have rent out since 2010. The 3rd our family home in Sarasota that we bought at the start of 2016.
My plan is to lightly renovate the Tampa home that we current rent out and sell it using the profit (approx $150,000) as my seed money. I will them be a cash buyer to purchase and renovate homes in Sarasota.
I am in the early stages at the moment and my tenant still has about 6 weeks left on his contract but is trying to move out as quickly as possible. I have a great realtor who I was very impressed with when we bought our current home and he is going to help pick out properties that we hope can turn $30-40K profit. Selling around $200,000 price range.
I am currently decorating our family home to get my skills up to scratch and become more efficient at several tasks. Previously I completely painted the 2 rental homes I own and have installed a kitchen and bathrooms as well as lots of other decorating such as wallpapering, plastering, tile, flooring etc.
I have been doing a lot of reading too including the Book on Flipping Houses and just starting a negotiation book. I will read the book on estimating rehab cost too.
Another interest of mine is car racing and I built a racecar "Scrap metal" completely from scratch. Which I have been very successful with. I am certainly not afraid of a challenge.
Looking forward to sharing information and learning from you guys, any advice is always greatly appreciated.
Paul
