New investor near Baltimore, MD

Hi there

I'm pretty new to investing in real estate and investing in general but have been doing a lot of research and building up my circle of people slowly and steadily. I live south of Baltimore, MD where I purchased my first home in July 2016.

I currently have a great job in the technology field and the higher education market, but am slowly starting the process for a PhD in computer science. I wish to be a professor for the love of the industry and education, but would like to start and grow my empire now so when I do begin teaching, I'll have a nice stream of equity and passive income.

I currently am keeping my mouth shut and ears open as I seek to expand my capital so I can put a down payment on my first investment property.
