New international investor!

Hello all!

Lurking for a while and thought it's about time I did this! I'm a wanna-be property investor from New Zealand, who is looking to expand his horizons by investing in the US, after our government has effectively outlawed property investment for most people (long story!).

In my day job, I work on-board oil tanker ships that carry your petroleum all around the Pacific. However I don't want to do this forever, so real estate is the way forward for me, therefore I hope to go full-time one day!
