New Guy from San Diego

Hello BP!  I'm Ron from San Diego and have recently become interested in multifamily investing.  I have to admit, I'm a bit shy with respect to Social Media and so I've been doing quite a bit of studying/reading/podcast listening over the past couple months and have been hesitant to reach out on BP until now.  Everyone seems very supportive and knowledgeable and hopefully over time I'll have some value to add as well as meet some great people.

A little about my experience - I've always invested, saved and studied various typical investment approaches across different asset classes.  I've been aware of real estate as a prudent investment but never dove into learning it as I have other areas of investing.  At this point (pre-first property purchase), I'd say I probably should take action and use this forum of experienced investors to motivate me to get past that first hurdle!

Working full time in the technology field, my approach is to favor a buy and hold multifamily strategy in the Phoenix, Tucson and Nevada areas (focusing on Phoenix initially).  My short term goal is to pull the trigger on the first deal and successfully hit cashflow targets and learn how to manage a property remotely.  For me, that's a lot to figure out initially before moving to the next step.

I love the idea of applying systematic processes for success and repeating them to scale up. Working with partners and finding investors to do deals with is the ultimate goal but,,,one step at a time.

Looking forward to the journey!

Ron
