Hello everyone!

I've been playing with the idea of investing in real estate for over 5 years now. I always thought I had to have a lot of money to get started which is why I've waited so long. I was in the military for 6 years as a Helicopter Crewchief and am currently working full time as a Quality Engineer so my days are pretty busy.

I stumbled upon BiggerPockets a few weeks ago and have fallen in love with this resource. I wish I would have found it sooner!

I'm looking to invest in Colorado Springs (originally from) or Norfolk, VA (where I did my military time) but I am open to other rising markets. I'm one of those people that like to walk through the process and see a few deals (closings) before I jump in and do a deal myself. To be honest I'm terrified! I can read about things a thousand times but until I physically do it I'm never really going to understand.

@Audra Dailing

I like your last sentence the best and it says the most - "I can read about things a thousand times but until I physically do it I'm never really going to understand."

I know a LOT of people who talk about, read about and think about real estate for YEARS - years that they could have been investing if they had just pulled the trigger earlier .... remember - for every day, week, month and year that goes by while you are preparing to invest - that is a day, week, month, or year that you aren't receiving cashflow, debt pay down/equity gain, and appreciation from an investment property -

Jump in - the water is fine
