Real Estate to fund other business

Ok, hi everyone! I'm new to the site and to real estate. The reason I joined the site, is to learn about what type of real estate investing is right for me and for my future. My end goal is to create a technological company to help the disabled. To do this, I need a good source of income to be able to fund my projects. Yes, I have considered "Kickstarter" but is not a long term reliable source. A lot of money goes into testing and prototyping; thats why I'm considering multiple sources of income, including real estate. I'm a 23 year old Mech.Engineering student from Puerto Rico, and an Industrial designer. If any of the members could give me any advise to the type of real estate I should be looking into, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
