Newbie in Billings, MT

Hello BP community! My name is Donathan Rose and I am just starting out in REI. I have absolutely no experience but have literally been obsessed with researching and trying to watch, listen, and read anything I can on REI for the last 2 weeks and ultimately that has landed me here writing on this forum. I absolutely love the idea of a this site and really enjoy all of the posts and the really love the podcasts too!

I am awaiting my first REIA meeting tomorrow here in Billings and can't wait! I really want to gain as much knowledge as possible from others before I start applying it myself. For me, learning about real estate investing has sparked an immediate passion for something I never thought I'd be interested in up until mid October.

Although I currently live in Billings, I plan to make it back to Columbia, SC where my wife and I are from and apply my learnings to the Columbia and/or Charleston markets.

I currently have a full time W-2 job as and Engineer but want to obtain financial freedom and have a little fun on the way by flipping houses. For me, to be able to comfortably do real estate full time, which does interest me.. A LOT! I would have to make a pretty decent cash flow from properties I buy and hold. Currently I'm really interested in utilizing a combination of subject to and the BRRR strategy to flip houses while holding some and selling some on the market and utilizing a lease option as a backup exit strategy. It sounds like lease options can attract buyers quickly but don't always pan out. Still need to study more up on some statistics but hey, I'm just getting started!
