Hi, I'm Derrick Waeckerle and I'm just getting familiar with BiggerPockets and the real estate world. I'm from saint Louis and that's where my family still lives so I'll be searching in both markets. My father used to flip houses with a partner and that's why I will still look in STL because he will be able to partner up with me. As for myself, I'm a financial manager just looking to build up some income outside of my job and I'm extremely fascinated by real estate. My goal at first is to look into building some capital and making some deals to flip or wholesale. I've been trying to learn about foreclosures and what the best way to approach these type of deals whether it be foreclosures or something else. After a couple years I'd like to start investing in some rental property but plan on holding off till I have more set aside for deals like this. I've been listening to the BiggerPockets podcast for awhile now and I pretty much listen to it everyday at work to catch up on the old episodes. I'm hoping by getting into the forums I can learn from others and even meet local people that are doing the same thing. If you have any advice, I'm all ears!
