Living in CT and plan to invest in Milwaukee WI

Hello Everyone,

I came across BP community while reading Brando R Turner's book on Rental Property Investing. My parents live in China and retired at the age of 54 as their commercial rental space are generating enough income to cover their expense. Living in US, I know the rental market is different, i want to start early and diversify my investing portfolio by entering rental property market.

Hartford, CT, where I live now is one of the worst performance markets based on the market index this year.  The average cost of house is high, as well as property tax. That's why I want to invest in elsewhere. Having visited Milwaukee, WI couple of years ago, I think it's a city with great potential. The universities and colleges neighborhoods are what I want to focus on.

After doing some research and narrowing down my criteria,  I would like to take the next step, Can anyone from Milwaukee, WI recommend some realtors locally ? Since I invest in area remotely, should I start looking for a property management company while I'm researching for properties, or it can wait for later ?

I appreciate any advise you can share.

Zora
