Introduction/Pointers to get started?

Hey everyone,

My name is Billy, I'm 24 years old and I graduated from ASU in 2014 with a BSE in Computer Systems Engineering. My full-time job is as a Computer Engineer at Intel Corporation. I currently live in Gilbert, AZ and have a son due in January. It's going to be my first so i'm really excited and nervous all at the same time.

I have always had a great interest in investing, but I have always had a little bit extra specifically in real estate. Although I'm very motivated to get into it, i have this great fear of actually pouncing into such a market. It is something that I would like to do on the side, so flipping wouldn't be the best strategy, I was thinking more along the lines of BRRR since I'm one for a more consistent cash flow and building wealth over time.

Which brings me to the big question I have, considering all that I have going on right now (full-time job and a baby on the way) what is the best way to get started with investing in real estate on the side? Any pointers on what are some good resources to combine with what's available here?

Thanks and looking forward to becoming more involved in the community and grow in real estate!
