Hello new member from DMV!

Hello my name is Benny! I discovered the BP podcast about 7 months ago and finally decided to sign up for the BP forum so I can connect with others in my area. I'm a IT consultant by day and a serial entrepreneur and real estate enthusiast by night. I've done a few successful flips in the Northern VA area but still consider myself a novice in this game.

I recently purchased a mixed use property in Baltimore City and am looking to expand my portfolio over next few years. Outside of expanding my portfolio my ultimate goal would be to find a mentor who can help me get the exposure I need to learn everything there is about real estate.

Thanks for reading!

-Benny

Hi @Benny D. welcome to Bigger Pockets!! There are lots of local DMV and especially Baltimore investors active on BP. I invest in buy and holds in Baltimore and I wholesale properties all over Maryland. Please let me know if I can help. Have you thought of doing in flips in Maryland?

    All the best,

    Kim

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

@Russell Brazil - The property is located in the Hollins Market area of Baltimore. Picked it up at an auction. Commercial space on the bottom with a rental up top. In talks with a couple of people now to occupy the commercial space (food services). Just have to have my lawyer finalize leasing terms. This is my first mixed use property which I plan on holding for a while so hopefully it all goes well. I'm kind of nervous but I think that area has a lot of growth potential especially with the recent buy up of commercial properties by Scott Plank in the area.

@Kim Coleman - I've never had exposure to wholesale properties before and would love to learn more about them. I grew up in Maryland all my life and have moved around a lot and would be open to doing flips as long as the numbers make sense. Which areas in Baltimore have you had success in? Thoughts on Hollins Market? Is there a way to find out future development plans for an area in Baltimore City?

Looking forward to interacting and hopefully meeting up with some of you all in the future to talk real estate!

    Best,

    Benny

@Benny D. Hi Benny.  I'm interested in investing in Maryland. I would like to know what auction you used?

Welcome to BP @Benny D. Hollins market is a little rough right now But I think it is a good longer term bet. It is one of the cheapest areas close to downtown.
