Hi, My name is Aquila and I am a new member. I reside in Northern NJ. Though I have owned (and sold) an investment property before, I am in process of restarting my portfolio with properties in Brooklyn, NY and Northern NJ (Hudson, Essex, Union). As a member of BP, my hope is to network and find great resources including wholesalers and private lenders.

@Abena Sidibe it's my personal opinion that you should be on high alert about investing in Newark since they recently updated their rent control law making it far more difficult for you to run a profitable scenario there.  Most newer investors here on BP are clueless to it and will recommend the city, but any where you invest in NJ you should have a good sense as to what the local rent control laws are, if any.
