Hello BP!

This feels a little like a personals ad, but here goes. I'm currently a buy and hold investor located near Wichita, KS, though very open to other investment and wealth building strategies (there's the personal ad part 😁)...

Prior to joining BP a while back and lurking and learning my first property was a SFH that I bought from my grandmother when she moved to assisted living in late 2014. Probably paid too much, but it was grandma. Good investment overall either way. This rental sat vacant as I worked the reno for a good 5 months. 30 years of poor improvement choices to correct. Renting with no vacancy since.

Flash forward to a few months ago. Got serious about learning more after listening to the audio version of Weekend Millionaire and found BP seemed to have a wealth of information so I then listened to a couple of Brandon Turner's books. I'm pretty analytical, which can create analysis paralysis in my life, but I'm a quick study and pour myself into figuring things out, so I decided to pull the trigger on my 2nd property shortly thereafter. My 2nd offer. To another investor I met thru Craigslist. This one's a duplex with a current tenant on one side that covers all expenses while I reno the other side.

My day job during all of this is running a Business Intelligence and Analytics group for a rather large corporation. I love what I do. My drive for investing is planning for a better retirement. Just don't see too many better ways to live well later in life and provide something everyone needs than REI.

That said, I love to talk RE and strategies, so hit me up if you're interested in swapping stories and ideas. Thanks for listening and sorry for the mini novel!
