New Investor from Tampa (area)

Hello BP!   New investor from the Tampa area here.

I've been listening to the podcast for a few months now, and decided it's time to get on the path (as a newbie).   My wife and I started to get interested in real estate earlier this year.   We had talked about, in vague terms, purchasing some properties as rentals.   Ultimately, we're looking to set up some income streams that would pay off in retirement.   So, I've been listening to all the great BP books on investing in rentals, managing rentals, etc.    We do own a second property which is a rental to a family member.

We're mostly interested in rentals/buy and hold, but a rehab/flip would be interesting if we could find the right deal or partner with others.

By day my wife is an engineer, and I'm a safety manager for a very large speciality trade contractor.   I spend my days overseeing our work as a contractor, dealing with subcontractors, and spending my days visiting job sites.  So, it's a little bit like real estate, right?  :)

Glad to be a part of the community, looking forward to learning a ton from all of you.   Thanks!
